What is Main Street Mindset?

Main Street Mindset is a blog written by small business owner and author Alan Bass. Small businesses make up 99.9 percent of all registered businesses in the USA. There are currently over 33 million American small businesses and nearly 50 percent of the working population of this country is employed by a small business. Yet, despite small businesses making up such a large portion of the economy, it is becoming increasingly difficult for those mom and pop-type people who are trying to understand the complexities of the business world, but in a way that is relevant to them. Most business articles and books are focused on large, corporate companies, with little to no relevance to small business owners. That’s where Main Street Mindset comes in.

This blog covers a multitude of business topics, including but not limited to:

  • Management/leadership

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Investing (for regular people)

  • Psychology

  • Government Policy (NOT politics)

Each of these topics has great relevance to the everyday tasks of small business owners and regular consumers who just want to understand a bit more how they can better their businesses, their customers, their employees, and themselves.

What is the logo?

The Main Street Mindset logo uses a Venn diagram in the background that represents three main pillars of the newsletter: the light blue represents psychology, the green represents economics/finance, and the red represents sports/athletics. The idea is that we take all of these topics and meld them together to shed light on how to become a better businessperson.
